the journey there.....

took us 11hrs!!! coz the bus kept stopping here n there..

i had a good time catching up with sarah during the journey :)
but we slept most of the time actually..haha
after 'checking-in' to my parents' friend's place,
we met up wif the Lucius & Louis, our official tourguides, for our very first meal in PG!

our first tourist spot was the KEK LOK SI temple!
pretty interesting walk up to the temple...
there were alot of shops on the way up...most shops sell the same stuff...
btw, this is SARAH! :)
in the temple grounds...
we took the FIRST INCLINED LIFT IN MSIA
to the top part of the kek lok si temple to see the super huge bronze guan yin statue!
i just realized i forgot to tk pic of the lift itself..haha

and the 12 chinese zodiac animal statues!

none of us were born in the yr of the pig..
but we couldnt resist taking this pic..

the gang at Kek Lok Si Temple!
after the temple, we headed down to Air Hitam for our first Pg laksa!!!
super nice!!!
after lunch, we went up to Penang Hill by the cable car!
it was a SUPER SLOW n SUPER HOT ride up..
but once we reached the top, it was so cooling....
we got a bird's eyeview of the south part of the island, overlooking the pg bridge!
we were super high up there!!!
must be the air.......
we stopped at the hotel up on Pg Hill for drinks... :)
nice nice place.... :)
actually, thtz all abt our first day there...haha...
coz after Pg Hill, we went straight to Queensbay mall for dinner coz we wanted somewhere cooling and nice to chill after all the walking under the hot sun..haha..
after tht we watched Rendition.. :p
Day2 started with breakfast at the Jelutong hawker place near the twins' place :)
our CHAR KUEY TIAO obsession started there..
throughout day2, we tried 4 different ones from 4 different places..
woohoo~!!

we headed to Penang Road after breakfast to walk walk...
tried the Penang Road pg laksa...it was nice too!
also tried cendol and the char kuey tiao... :)
we went over to Swatow Lane after that for more foood!!
this is the famous penang Lobak!

opposite the shop we ate is the New World Park!
we were so fascinated by the toilet signs..haha
as the weather was VERY hot...
we took shelter in Prangin Mall for a little while b4 proceeding to the Toy Museum!

the guys were too shy to enter the ladies' washroom so we ka ki lai~
since we wanted to prolong our visit there,
we tried to take a movie-poster-picture...haha

after the toy museum we headed to Gurney Plaza for fun~
i actually ate at Pastamania there..hahaha..
when it comes to pasta, i just cant resist!!! *guilty
we met up wif Su Be for dinner tht nite!!!
had more hawker food at Perak Road!
wan ton mee, pg laksa, fried porridge, tomyam satay!
the fried porridge is pretty chun lor..something special!
just by the road side, we saw this APAM BALIK stall...
apparently, this lady has been selling for 3 yrs..
b4 tht she was helping her dad out at another place..
altogether her family is operating 3 stalls around penang :)

we practically kept eating the whole day..haha..
by the end of dinner time we were bursting liao.
so, Su Be suggested a place where we can walk walk...
she led us to the jetty to Pulau Jerajak.
but when we reached there, the security guard didnt allow us to walk on the jetty :(
but tht didnt stopped us from taking group pics!!!

the Penangites couldnt think of anywhere else to go..
so, we went to Queensbay to walk walk and squat squat n sit sit :)
since the nite was still young, we went to the twins' place to chill...
watched Dead Silence!
i think itz creepy lah...itz a horror movie abt a Ventriloquist.
but it was really fun to watch in a group..hehe...can scare each other n laugh at each other...

on Day 3, we started the day off getting lost around Penang Road
before we found the Hailam Noodles at Cintra Street..nicenice!!
(it'll be shifting to Kimberly Street soon)
big bro started his day with the traditional bfast menu...
...of half-boiled eggs and toasted bread :)
pg is quite cute lor..they break the eggs into the cup wan..hehe
there was a stall outside the shop selling Belacan Fried Chicken!
but duno why, no belacan taste also...
but it's still really yummy!
paling suka the fried chicken skin...crispy giler!
fattening, though...haha *guilty
after the food, we headed to Balik Pulau!!
pretty winding journey up the hill...but fun fun!
it's a really old town up there... :)
we were supposed to try their laksa and special lime juice
but i guess we were too late...
the late bird catches no cacing.boohoohoo.
apparently, twins' mom was from there...
this is Louis in front of their grandma's place :)
as there was no food at balik pulau, we headed down again...
this time to Padang Brown hawker place!
tried the pohpiah, pg laksa, pig's soup, n passembor!
the bobo chacha there was pretty ok..
supposed to be VERY nice according to Soly who tried it b4..
mebe we got the wrong stall la..haha

after tht, we went back to wash up and pack our stuff as we were leaving tht nite..
had a sumptuous dinner at DOUBLE GOOD Restaurant at Bukit Jambul area!
some of the dishes were mussles wif cheese, indonesian style prawns, and 3cup chicken!

we left Penang at 10pm..
but this time we boarded a better bus!
RM80 per person (Konsortium w/ snoozer seat)
this time, we had our own personal tv with movies to watch!
and our seats can be adjusted as shown in the pic..hehe
and the journey back took us only 8hrs this time! :)
We wanna thank Lucius, Louis, Su Be and Mark
for taking us around Penang to makan and jalan-jalan!
We definitely had tons of fun and we are already missing Penang :)
will certainly make another trip there real soon!
(but i think next time we'll fly there instead..haha)
